   Usually my company's "Office Manager" sends out invitations to all the wfh employees like me to trick us into having fun by joining an Office Trivia Lunch.

     My old job used to do ridiculous shit like this all the time. I used to show up to them because I felt bad for the ladies who put the events together, but after a few months of bullshit events I stopped going. Pity is not a good excuse for torturing yourself.
