   Mastodon newcomers: Don't worry, you'll get used to interactions on here more often resembling everyday life, where there's frequently more thought and consideration before saying something; there are no algorithms and you're not constantly interrupted by ads. I had 3000 followers back on Twitter in the old days and with respect it didn't really mean shit -- my posts were lost in the privately-owned centralised site of digital capitalism, which in turn made posting feel pointless, and therefore even less considered.
