This is a lovely piece.I’m also perennially interested in the flip side: embracing desire paths. What if the unanticipated reaction improves on the design premise? When is it possible to embrace the misuse, turn it into just “use?” (What would it take to open that grass to the public?) What processes, structure, and culture do we need to be ready to embrace those “positive desire path” moments when they come?
