👴🏻Foolish African leaders listening to Putin! He's just pandering to them! All he does is bring up how colonialism brutalized their countries and overthrew their governments, then names their fallen leaders, and then promises to help them lead independent futures! This is China's playbook too!

🧔🏿♂️Yeah it's pretty transparent. 🤔 Y'know, we could do all that too: point out how colonialism harmed them, celebrate the leaders we killed, and promise to help them lead independent futures?

    👴🏻LOL! Never!

@mekkaokereke I've always found it funny that conservatives (and liberals themselves, for that matter) think "liberal" means "left wing" or "progressive."

For you crybabies sad that I ever criticize the Biden administration for anything at all, here you go. Here's something good that the Biden administration did:

      https://www.state.gov/africasummit/

      Biden Africa keynote:
      https://m.youtube.com/live/G6croGkR8oI?t=31m39s

This summit was a good pivot from calling Africa "shithole countries." A good departure from Biden+Fauci banning travel from African countries (that didn't have the new Covid strain), but not stopping it from European countries(that were surging with that strain).🤡

Neither Russia, nor the United States, nor Europe, nor China would give African nations a fair deal if it weren't for the competition. But there is competition. And it's heating up.

I'm a hopeless optimist, so I want to believe that diplomacy and trade will win out. ♥️🙏🏿

I want to believe that the violent theft that was so commonplace in the last century, will not follow us into the next one.

      But I know the truth.

Before Wagner Group and Blackwater, there was Sandpiper, and Executive Outcomes.

Putin is not dumb. He invoked the name Patrice Lumumba, hot on the heels of the release of Nolan's Oppenheimer. He knows that those two names are intimately connected in the minds of Africans.

And he offered "free grain." to make up for that lost "due to the Ukraine conflict."

But African leaders are not dumb either. The president of South Africa said "We did not come here for 'gifts.' Restart the Ukraine grain deal." South Africa wants to *buy* Ukrainian grain, not *take handouts* from Russia

It really boils down to two questions:

      1) Do you think the western countries that lead the world over the past century (like my one! USA! USA!🇺🇲🦅) can continue to lead the world over the next century without African resources?

      2) Do you think any developed countries over the next century can continue to secure African resources through theft, conquest, and colonialism, or will they have to secure them through diplomacy?

The answer to 1) is a resounding "no." But 2) is less clear. Maybe?
