@a13cui Those are macbooks, I know of them because people with them would always carry a bunch of adapters or be like "Ah yeah right, I have a tablet looking like a laptop".
@lanodan wait until you find out about PCs that only have DisplayPort (or even Mini-DP) or a weird HDMI + mini-DP (ahem X260) combo which requires you to buy a dubious adapter
@lanodan oh wait, it's now worse, the T14 doesn't even have that mini DP port so you *have* to use the docking station (I hope it's compatible with a T480 one since it uses the same port)
@a13cui Nah, I'd say DP completely failed to get enough traction and ended up being the DB13W3 of this era where people with DP have adapters (just like for USB-C, in fact my USB-C video adapters give HDMI out).
@lanodan and Display Port is the current era equivalent of HDMI since it seems like a lot of GPUs and monitors are DP-exclusive (even USB-C display output is based off that standard)
@a13cui In fact at that store (materiel.net), in terms of displays available per ports: - HDMI: 562 - DP: 481 - VGA: 149 - USB-C: 134 (that's quite surprising) - DVI: 41
@a13cui Probably because you don't get rid of a standard which was there as for something like 50+ years that easily. And it's probably profitable enough to slap a cheap scaler in the display.
