I've not quite decided for myself how problematic it is.
On the one hand 'Better the devil you know'.
On the other hand 'Why did I have to make a Facebook account for my son to be able to save his progress on Clash Royale in Supercell so he could take it from his old phone to his new phone?'.
But on the one hand again, what alternatives for a worldwide unique identity are there besides Twitter, Facebook, Google, Apple?

  Yes, but I mean a somewhat verified unique identity that could prevent the same person with multiple accounts:
  - to act as different people (online voting);
  - to refer back to the same person (pre registering for concert tickets).
