     @kainoa neeva was absolute garbage when it was alive
     their way of being “simpler, privacy friendly” was a complete lie, they ran for every new trend that popped up and try to find a way to add it to their search lol
     AI? Of course, not only did they add it to search, they even made an entire app for AI search only. Web3? Here, have this NFT search engine, whatever it would be even used for.

     @kainoa@calckey.social hard disagree there. Accuracy is not great. searched for fulguris browser a couple of days ago and got a first page of pokemon.
     
     That, plus you cant always gaurantee your chosen instance will be Up/accessable. Even ones like tiekotter that promise 100 uptime on their instance listings page.
     
     And lastly, they seem to be very error prone - their scrapes of whatever other search engines getting routinely blocked or something else generating error codes and giving you incorrect results.
     
     I've used SearXNG extensively but gave up on it when it just got too unreliable. I'm on Startpage now.
     
     Neeva tho? Subscription based. And now bought by a company Snowflake pushing it toward generative AI.

     @kainoa Reminda me of the old search engine aggregators. The ones where you typed your search and it would open several tabs of different search engine results.
