   boosts with content warning is a cool idea
   but the thing is, when you are adding a new feature with something as sensitive as this and it ONLY WORKS with your software and everyone else sees it as a normal boost, that’s just incredibly stupid

     @Jain it does, i’m not sure how it works on iceshrimp since i didn’t try it yet, but hajkey’s content warning boosts just straight up don’t work

     @meow@fedi.absturztau.be @Jain@blob.cat They broke in a merge and we haven't fixed them yet, because until very recently, no one else could see them anyway. But they will be fixed :)

     @ada @Jain that’s great to hear! How are they handled outside of hajkey and iceshrimp, is it like Jain said and quotes are used? If yes, then do they display simply as a post link with a content warning on mastodon/other platforms that don’t have quotes?

     :blobcatgoogly: never checked the specs, but it would be a bit weird if all of the softwares do misinterpret / ignore this feature... Do you know how the expected behavior should be when someone adds a CW to a boost?
     
     I like the idea of having a boost which works just as a repeat and a Quote which is basically a reference and anything can be added (for example CW's) since it is a new post.
     I think adding CW's to boosts would make the handling of boost less easier and more complicated.

     @meow@fedi.absturztau.be @Jain@blob.cat Well, at the moment, a quote boost with a CW will do the trick, but AP also allows CWs to be added on regular boosts.
     
     The problem is, no one bothers to look for CWs on boosts, and treats them as regular boosts.
     
     But a quote boost and a boost and very different behind the scenes, so you really have to pick one or the other.
     
     Our hope is that both methods become relatively common
