:blobcathug:Recently i saw an article about a German Startup creating a privacy focused Phone: https://volla.online/ I do like that they promote Ubuntu Touch and i do like that they created a Google Free Custom Rom. But when it comes to my experience with Android, i do have critics on almost every Phone Manufacturer. For a few years, phones have been sold again and again with the principle that they use AOSP and do not change much and have a long support. While the manufacturers keep their promise, most manufacturers are lagging behind with updates and this is a big issue when it comes to security.
@Jain at least fairphone tries to deliver that. Well not in the best experience, but i believe them they say they try. And yeah, its not a privacy focused rom.
@a1ba tbh, i dont have much knowledge of the process beside that they made a cut and deliver most of the android updates independent of the phone specific stuff now, which is a good idea.
@kura@a1ba thats not my experience tho... especially if someone wants a ungoogled rom, i always recommend google phones :blobcatrainbow: this irony :blobcatgiggle2: they are the nearest to AOSP and have a big community. Both of this aspects lead to having the most recent updates while your phone is hardened
