Green man to stay on longer to help people cross safely, and aid inclusivity. Previously planned at a walking speed of 1.2m/second crossing, now found to be typically 0.9m/s for men and 0.8m/s for women. 👍
Good to see extra time being allocated to pedestrians instead of drivers - a move in the right direction ... but perhaps not far enough yet ... maybe 0.6m/s to make them more family friendly?
But at least it's #GoodNews that it's being thought about in new guidance to councils.
