   @Evenkeeld They had these in Hong Kong by the mid-1990s. I was stunned at that time.

   "How could this place be so dangerous?"

   Seems funny now.

   Kinda like watching Terminator as a sort of comedy in 2023, as opposed to the horriblly violent film it was in 198whatever.

     @nom @Evenkeeld due to the smash and grab boat robbers coming over from China I assume? I lived in HK for over 12 of the past 15 years, only the banks still had setups like this.

     in fact there were no BKs most of the time I was there except at the airport and the peak, they just started opening a few more about 8 years ago-ish
