Ame (americanchampion@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 23-Jul-2023 23:23:27 JST Ame @ThatWouldBeTelling From what I've seen of it, Barbie isn't turbowoke. The plot appears to be:
> Barbieland is full of hip-hop celeb culture-obsessed Barbies, who treat the Kens like accessories and are kind of self-obsessed
> Ken goes outside, learns things about "the patriarchy" (tongue-firmly-in-cheek), takes over and makes it about him instead
> Barbie takes back over, realizes gender wars bad, everyone reconciles
Looks to be pretty standard 2010 liberalism. Haven't seen it myself, but the message seems to be "don't treat the opposite sex badly". -

That Would Be Telling (thatwouldbetelling@shitposter.club)'s status on Sunday, 23-Jul-2023 23:23:28 JST That Would Be Telling @AmericanChampion Is a little early for word of mouth to do its thing (Barbie is said to be the usual woke garbage). And the fact Oppenheimer is three hours long doesn’t exactly say “summer movie!”
Hmmm, the polities that are really strongly for the latter are special cases, tiny D.C., very small New Hampshire, and of course New Mexico.
