We just lost the last movie theater in 40 miles of my home. https://web.archive.org/web/20230722145753/https://www.starbeacon.com/news/local_news/after-serving-the-community-for-30-years-amc-movie-theater-closes-its-doors-for-good/article_77917b0a-2633-11ee-818c-4b7a8fe40e1d.html

clacke (clacke@libranet.de)'s status on Sunday, 23-Jul-2023 11:10:58 JST clacke You can't put Richard Feynman in a movie about someone else unless you're very cautious, because he's such a large persona that he would take over and the film would lose focus.
I love that "Oppenheimer" simply has an unnamed guy playing the bongos in two or three scenes at Los Alamos, and now I learned that the "[the windshield will protect me from the UV]" guy is also Feynman.
I wonder how many little details like this I would catch if I read up about the project and the people around it for two weeks and then watched it again.

Dave Neary (dneary@mastodon.ie)'s status on Sunday, 23-Jul-2023 11:35:01 JST Dave Neary @clacke I loved being able to point out to my son that "insignificant bongo playing guy" was Feynman. I would have expected his lock picking would have come up in the context of Oppenheimer picking untrustworthy folks.
