   Dites, j'ai voulu me créer un compte #Bookwyrm, je pensais qu'il suffisait de me connecter avec mes identifiants Piaille (vu que Bookwyrm fait partie de la fédération ActivityPub), mais en fait c'est pas possible ? Comment il faut faire ? Et quel intérêt de la fédération s'il faut se créer un nouveau compte ? 🙏

     The purpose of the Fediverse is to have lots of independent servers, so that no one becomes dependent on one server.

     Each account is linked to one server, you can't use the same account on other servers.

     The advantage of federation is that people can sign up on different servers but still communicate with each other. People on different BookWyrm servers can interact, and people on Mastodon can follow BookWyrm accounts even if they're not BookWyrm members.

     Most "single sign on" services like Facebook, Apple etc encourage people to become dependent on a central company, which is dangerous.
