   To invite your friends onto #Mastodon, there's a built-in system for this:

   1. Log in on your server’s website
   2. Go to Preferences > Invite people
   3. Choose the settings you want for your invitation links, then click "Generate"

   This often works even if your server has closed to new sign-ups, as admins may optionally allow invitations to still work.

   Alternatively, just ask friends to sign up on any server and then exchange account addresses.

     I don't think this is possible on the apps directly, though they may have a "more settings" link that takes you to your server's website.

     By the way, Metatext is no longer being maintained. The developer has had to take a break due to health problems. You might want to try Ice Cubes or Toot! for iPhone?

     I am trying to understand filtering. The filter (on the right side) filtered out the city I wanted to follow. Now I have found I can follow hash tags. How do I see that list to confirm what I have followed?

     I wish there was FilterIn and FilterOut for hashtags and words.
