@ghostprototype Image generators are still incapable of creativity, though. One of the reasons why you can immediately tell an image was AI generated is because of botched, completely nonsensical composition no human would come up with. This isn't a purposeful, artistic choice on its part. It is incapable of coming up with nonexistent concepts, always substituting something fictional or fantastical with a real thing that exists in photographs.
It's some of the first because it's easiest to do with abundant computing power.

I wonder if art and entertainment-generating AI is some of the first that's getting rolled out is because art was always thought to be the most difficult thing for computers to generate, since computers aren't capable of 'true creativity'
if AI can accomplish the goal perceived as most out of its reach, the more objective stuff should be a piece of cake
