I hope writers strikes last years and all of them quit

@ItsSkyDragonz writing is not gonna get better if you replace all the writers because they're being told by the executives what to write, who are not striking or being replaced

@ItsSkyDragonz who is the first guy who is complaining, is he a notable actor, he looks like a certain youtuber but I don't think I'm right

@rude @ItsSkyDragonz let me rephrase, the same people are going to be doing the hiring so you'll probably get the same kind of writers

@Moon @ItsSkyDragonz This doesn't seem to be true. The execs seem to be giving these people carte blanche to do whatever they want and they just fucking suck at writing. Look at the witcher tv show, or the last seasons of game of thrones. Lazy hack writers.

My main concern is the strike will push the industry into using AI faster so things will just get even worse

@animeirl @ItsSkyDragonz I looked at their demands and some are good and some are dumb. I haven't picked a side, but I think they should get some of their demands and some of them are just things that changed because of the pandemic and aren't going back, like team size

@animeirl @ItsSkyDragonz regulating things like team size seems stupid to me but I don't know their industry intimately so it may be a sensible objection.

also not really against the strike since the compensation for writers relative to the amount of money hollywood makes is so bad only an idiot would choose this career hence the lack of good scripts. oversimplification obv but "you get what you pay for" has some truth to it

@animeirl @ItsSkyDragonz lets be honest most writing jobs can't possibly be artistically rewarding it's just a job right? does anybody feel good about that episode of disney channel show #2308 episode 80 they wrote

AI generated scripts are gonna be terrible

@animeirl @condret @ItsSkyDragonz ironically when people post hilariously bad AI scripts on twitter etc they clearly are human-written because AI writing generally is just like being sick and watching daytime television, not a hilarious mess

@animeirl @Moon @ItsSkyDragonz worse in what way?

yeah but compensation and good working conditions does a lot to make the grind between actual good projects more bearable im sure

@animeirl @ItsSkyDragonz yeah that is true, I support that I just think you could plausibly improve AI to where it could generate new Hey Dude episodes for eternity with no loss in fidelity
