Capitalism isn’t a synonym for markets, freedom, progress, or the rule of law. Capitalism is the organization of society around the interests of capital, and for the generation of profits.
Economic freedom, fair competition, or things getting better over time are neither required by nor natural consequences of capitalism.
As long as capital grows, capital is happy. Your prosperity, to the extent you have any, is a by-product—and one that capital will ultimately see as waste, and come for.
