@Zealist @Eiswald @Dan_Hulson Not sure when that map is from? I'm pretty sure the Welsh were in Britain before the Romans, and there were some Irish and Scotts descendants too. Long before the Angles and Saxons crossed the the channel.
I think I have an uncontrollable impulse to be devil's advocate

@billy_hughes @Eiswald @Dan_Hulson well the history is, celts lived in britain various tribes disunited fighting each other and hanging out, romans came along and conquered a chunk of britain, once the western roman empire fell to barbarians inside hte gates and outside them too, the celts got scurred, and invited anglosaxons over to help protect them, and hten they multiplied and was like "we made this"

@Zealist @billy_hughes @Eiswald @Dan_Hulson The roman calendar dates from the founding of Rome circa 750 bc so this would be 130 bc. after all the Punic wars and conquest of most of the greeks but before Marius & Sulla.
