   The start of Burr, a federated social networking server: https://github.com/Eriner/burr

   Early days; it doesn't do anything yet.

   The first milestone will be to add a test suite for Mastodon/Pleroma API implementation. After that, the pain and suffering begins.

   Down the road I'd like to implement a GraphQL API to make things easier for FE developers.

     @Horns scratch. Mastodon is written in Ruby. Burr is written in Go. That said, I plan to implement the Mastodon API so any clients that work with Mastodon should work with Burr.

     That being said the devs are trannies who hate me. I wouldn't mind new software built by friends.

     @alex @Horns I've never interacted with them and know nothing about them, but their README didn't inspire confidence.

     I'm content to play in my own sandbox with my own toys.
