   @mischievoustomato @professionalbigot69 Reposing a copy of that png wont ever degrade it, provided the copy is made correctly.
   
   Even if the png is rencoded every time, that's fine as long as the decoder/encoder is correct, as png is lossless.
   
   
   Most of the degradation seems to be from degenerates taking screenshots of images, which are poorly encoded into a jpeg and then re-posting that screenshot and another degenerate take a screenshot and the same thing repeats until you get a blocky degraded mess.
   
   Even with jpeg's, as long as you just select "Save Image As" and the site you upload to doesn't re-encode the jpeg, such image will remain exactly the same as the first copy.
