   Contractions

   I notice I tend to say "it'll not" when other people seem to favour "it won't" and technically they carry the same meaning, and are in theory equally valid, yet I feel like I'm in the wrong.

     @FuchsiaShock FWIW when I imagine someone saying "it'll not", they're doing it in a Yorkshire* accent.

     * or whatever facsimile of a Yorkshire accent my brain has picked up from 90s TV

     I wonder if that's a regional thing that I've picked up from my dad's side of the family. It sounds more northern.
