@mario if you run your own infrastructure it's less important. I lost two entire servers because offsite backups were broken and one day they both just disappeared from my hosting company. I still think you're missing something but not arrogant. It's just really easy to run the wrong command or a bad script and it wipes or corrupts your disk array.

ppl tell me how i should setup my storage architecture
they doubt btrfs, raid-1 and recommend me off-site backups
while that would be def optimal, i have yet to see a serious flaw in my setup
ofc my assumption is that btrfs doesn't break, but i think that is a fair assumption
if you assume your OS breaks, then you can't do any computing
as as long as btrfs doesn't break the only thing that could break are singular drives which can be replaced without any data loss
maybe it carries a bit of arrogance, but i have been hoarding data for close to a decade by now and i believe to have some competency in the data security and integrity aspects
