kaia (kaia@brotka.st)'s status on Sunday, 09-Jul-2023 06:20:07 JST kaia @grillchen sounds like the Starship Troopers ban was based on a literal watching of that movie by kids/youths and I can understand that. if you don't have the historical background and just watch it as-is, those beautiful characters killing bugs sure make it seem appealing. -

grillchen (grillchen@brotka.st)'s status on Sunday, 09-Jul-2023 06:57:28 JST grillchen @shibao @kaia yes but imo thats what an age restriction is for. though i get it.
i dont necessarly mind the ban since it is only advertising and showing the movie publicly.
buying it, watching it in private or in an educational context is still fine
now it is FSK (similar to a restriction) age 16 and i think thats finekaia likes this. -

kolya (kolya@social.cologne)'s status on Sunday, 09-Jul-2023 07:04:06 JST kolya @kaia @grillchen Pretty sure a lot of people took that film literally when it came out too. It's the same trick that Verhoeven used in RoboCop. He knows what he's doing. Black Book is another great film by him.
