@danvanmoll@twit.social in my opinion, we now have enough information about all of this to have more specific conversations rather than vague predictions about the near future.
Talking about #Mastodon or #fediverse being under threat or not without mentioning what the actual people using these systems will experience as a result of these developments sounds a lot like treating people as numbers.
Who cares (other than those with monetary interests in all of this) what happens to #Twitter, if #blewski implodes like the #Titan sub or if #Spill will survive another day, when what will happen to me, or to the trans girl trying to have conversations about her new short story project, or to the beekeeper just looking for company without being bombarded by ads while his insidiously scraped wishes, interests, problems and fears are for sale as a nicely curated list for more potential advertisers is unclear?
I'm very tired of this business talk when we need to talk about people.
It's not in any way positively relevant to anyone who isn't looking to make money from #Threads or its inclusion to the #fediverse.

Dan van Moll (danvanmoll@twit.social)'s status on Saturday, 08-Jul-2023 07:15:43 JST Dan van Moll Upon observing #Threads, it seems that the individuals at #BlueSky might be growing increasingly apprehensive about it, closely followed by #Twitter. This development renders #Substack Notes, #T2, #Nostr, and #Spill seemingly obsolete.
In my humble opinion, #Mastodon is less threatened by this, as Threads is said to be federated into the #Fediverse.
Your thoughts?
