   So, Threads.

   My initial hope was that it may be a way to regain some of the things I lost when I stopped using Twitter, namely updates from bands that are still on Twitter (many of them obscure, many of them Japanese). Because I follow quite a lot of them on IG too, I'm hoping Threads will provide some of that Twitter-like functionality (ie not just image posts).

   I'm starting to see this happening slowly, but there is a huge problem with Threads in its current state: there is no following only timeline, and the algorithm is not providing any value - so my timeline consists of about 90% inane updates from "celebrities" I could not care less about, while it's practically impossible to see any posts from people I follow.

   It's early days of course, so I hope this will be addressed and improved, but in its current state Threads is near-impossible to use (by me - if you're entertained by said "celebrities", you may enjoy it).

     @mudri pretty much the same people I follow on Instagram.... I'm waiting with adding others until they implement a follow-only timeline, as I still find it pretty hard to find content from people I follow. But yes, it will get properly interesting federation comes along.

     @mudri it uses your Instagram account (they're basically the same account, assuming you have an Instagram account of course, I guess you could create a new account for Threads). If you use your UIG account, there is a option on sign-up to automatically follow everyone you follow on IG, as and when they sign up to Threads.
