   Given the late stage of #capitalism we live in, I read every "Why has Mastodon failed" article as "No private company has found a way of monetizing the platform and their users", and I think that's beautiful.

     @hk all I've heard over the last few days is 'Thread's has the financial backing to expand in ways Mastodon didnt'. And I'm stood here like......why did it need to expand?

     Why does everything always have to be getting bigger?
