I read a history book this winter about the national socialist and adjacent sub cultures in Norway in the 30s, and one thing that really struck me was the frequent griping among these people about how "jazz culture" was threatening the Norwegian way of life. I think about that every time I see contemporary local reactionaries get unhinged about the "woke" threat. Black US culture has been a specter in Norway for at least a hundred years. @histodons #History
