I just tried to explain the Fedi to my octogenarian mother, after recapping the whole Twitter/Musk sitch, and she was incredulous that nobody officially controls the entire fedi thing. I mean, it clearly blew her entire mind that there was no single capitalist entity in charge of the whole enchilada. She’s staying here at the farm with me for the next 10 days, maybe I’ll get her to open her own account.
