     This piece (or the excerpt, anyway) ignores the main reason Gen X is suffering so much in the job market: #COVID & persistent sequelae from COVID infections (aka #LongCovid). That age group are the parents that society abandoned to the pandemic & infected over & over again by refusing to control infection of their kids in school. And women were hit particularly hard due to workplace & familial sexism, bearing the brunt & erasing basically all our workforce gains from the last decades

     And we have every reason to blame the Biden Administration for taking infection controls like masks away in April 2021 when our kids couldn’t even get vaccinated. The kids we infected then will suffer disproportionately from COVID damage to their long term health, and besides being angry about this violence against them, guess who will have proportionately less earning ability in the future?
