     @bot @re9177 ok correction: my reverse proxy doesn't cache emoji. mediaproxy apparently does because i look at the emoji on my instance and it's under /proxy, but the instance itself hosts emoji under /emoji and the location block on my reverse proxy is:
     
     location ~ ^/(media|proxy)
     
     so emoji wouldn't match
