it's interesting how box jellyfish are seen as so dangerous actually given that like
yes, several species are extremely dangerous and venomous, and have killed several people (confirmed 79 for fleckeri, 2 for irukandji jellies, over the entire record) but most encounters are "only" extremely painful and not actually dangerous
>out of 62 people treated for Irukandji envenomation in Australia in 1996, almost half could be discharged home with few or no symptoms after 6 hours, and only two remained hospitalized approximately a day after they were stung
like you're more likely to be eaten by a shark than die of a jellyfish sting if you're even on like australia's most dangerous beach, and like shark attacks are extremely rare
