Baron (dudenamedjeff@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Thursday, 06-Jul-2023 01:58:46 JST Baron Outlook sucks for cleaning up folders based on criteria. Search and delete doesn't work for large sets of emails (pulls only 75 messages at a time from server, delete multiple times to move to trash)
Creating a mail rule with the cleanup criteria (sender, subject, date range, or what have you). Run the rule on the folder to be cleaned up. Works great over search and delete.
The rule can be kept (rename it a cleanup rule and disable, if desired) or delete for one-time cleanups.

Sir² Morgan (mh@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Thursday, 06-Jul-2023 06:22:47 JST Sir² Morgan @DudeNamedJeff same here. we used to use exchange, but I could just use an IMAP or POP client and use mutt. then we switched to gmail, which was usable but not the greatest. now we've switched back to exchange again, but they've locked it down to any 3rd party clients so you have no choice but to use outlook
