@woo @scottjshapiro but its user interface is a clone. There are many other fedi platforms that work the way you indicate, most of which have significantly more features than mastodon, but mastodon is the largest platform on the verse in part because of how much it matches twitter -

@scottjshapiro Mastodon isn't a clone. It has significant differences which create surprisingly different behaviours; as does the instance you choose and the culture of the people with the interests it serves.
