     @malakai yes it will federate but within its own protocol
     
     you can already change your handle to whatever domain name you want

     will they actually federate though? As far as I have read, it’s just a hand-wavey way to say “you can have your own domain name in your handle”

     @lonelyowl @malakai the protocol and bluesky itself are both being worked on at the same time so you won't see any other servers until they feel both are ready enough
     
     right now there's no hashtags and a lot of moderation concerns like not being able to remove followers so its just nowhere near ready for there to be more than one server or to not be closed yet

     Just yesterday googled this question, i don't see like any bluesky instances except official beta and i don't see any guides how to setup your own. They published some code to github but idk how to use it, it's just a preview for protocol developers
