I'm in the middle of building LLVM 15 from scratch for the 11th time today, and I have 2 more to go until I can start another CI run.
How's your day going? ?

@andrewrk@mastodon.social thinking about the 7th draft of my "minimal set of instructions to start distro development"
llvm and gnu both give me nightmares
@fedor@mastodon.gamedev.place @andrewrk@mastodon.social
not particularly useful, sorry
cproc isn't even self-hosting, let alone capable of self-hosting an entire distro
tcc would have been closer but still not that useful besides as a boostrap target via gcc4 which...
is probably more pain than it's worth
@andrewrk @tost mastodon mess up who you really really to haha
was not thinking of an alternative for zig!
QBE might be relevant to @tost desire to build something from scratch without touching llvm/gnu
@fedor @tost it's not really an alternative, it can't even output object files
@tost @andrewrk not sure if this is relevant to your problem, but check out QBE: https://c9x.me/compile/, a great alternative to LLVM/GNU
