     @ringo Modern web design is funny. They decided that people don't want to move their eyes very much when reading and don't like much clutter, so we have gigantic wallpaper in the background with tiny little content panes that squish everything together.

     which was the point entirely.

     @ringo I'm not sure I could do 4k without UI upscaling set to 2x or something like that. It seems like 1080p is pretty much as good as I need for desktop use.

     i thought so too but then i decided to look at how much less my brain would have to think in the video editing app, or similar.
     
     the idea of not having to actually resize things inside the app, made it worth it
