     The translate option is there if a post is in a different language to your settings, AND if your server's admin has activated it.

     The translation button depends on a third party service, usually libretranslate, and it costs money to run so some servers may switch it off. Your admin will be able to tell you if that's the case on your server.

     @60pencilgirl I think people have to set their language options correctly for it all to work. I see a few that give me that option, but plenty don't. Maybe @feditips knows better?

     Yeah, that's possible, especially if they join a server that has English as the default language.

     @feditips @60pencilgirl I set my language to English as to what languages to see in my feed, but I still get lots of Japanese and Arabic messages. Is that just because the writers of those messages didn't set their language to what language they post in?
