     @7 nah its no big deal. I do think the fisher price comparison is funny though. Round edges and bright colors will do that. I'm beginning to like pleroma more since the notifications became its own column. I dont remember if I did that in the customization or if it updated. My two "complaints" with pleroma so far are
     
     1) when I expand a thread, the dark maroon line showing what's part of the thread is too dark and it's hard for my eyes to differentiate between dark mode hacker pleroma and dark mode hacker expanded thread. Idk if I can change that in the customizations but I will be looking next time I'm on my computer
     
     2) because pleroma fe is designed to be like tweet deck with all pages on one screen, I am unable to click a notification and see what the hell the reply is to. One thing soapbox, and husky for that matter, do well is allow me to click into a thread in a familiar way. This can probably be solved by adding the ability to expand a thread in the notifications column.

     @agorabrewing It’s not bad (and I can set it up on a subdomain again for you if you’d like) but it does have a very fisher-price feel to it as far as interfaces go (sorry alex) and at least until recently, it was opinionated in how it was themed, leaving things very consistent but limited.

     @7 @helene to be fair because I definitely dont want to seem like I'm shitting on ANYONE rn, its pretty clear to me that the two FEs simply have different target audiences. Soapbox is clearly designed to be mobile friendly and offer a Twitter-like experience while Pleroma is a desktop focused, autism weaponized, feature rich environment. They are both really good at what they do. And I use both. Stuff like this is why I'm having a hard time deciding if I'm switching to graphene or pinephone pro next month

     @agorabrewing @7 no worries there, UX is never perfect and that "how do I jump to a thread from a notification" thing is a common UX problem with Pleroma-FE, you're not the first :ablobcatwink: they indeed to have quite different audiences!
     Mastodon's FE would probably be best, if only it supported more of the Pleroma features like emoji reacts

     @helene @7 FE modularity I think is the next real "step" for fedi tbh. There has to be a point where I can swap FEs like swapping a WordPress theme

     @agorabrewing @7 akkoma has a proof-of-concept where each user can pick their FE and stay on the same domain as everyone else, and makes it really easy for the admin to install more FEs

     @helene @agorabrewing I will probably stick with pleroma-fe because other than treebird and bloat, it’s the lightest of the major ones out there and I like setting my background and playing with my theme. But I’ve been working through making different standalone apps to perform different common actions from the cli, mostly in my head for now but it’ll make it to code eventually.
