Some quick Mastodon tips:

If you are using the web interface:
Settings->Appearance->Web Interface has an advanced web interface which is pretty nice!
You also likely want cropping images *off* & there are other useful options in there.

The settings icon next to notifications is where you can turn the notification sounds off.

If you click on a hashtag, it's the same as searching for it, & any time you have a hashtag up, you can hit the + at the top to subscribe to it.

When attaching an image, make sure to hit edit, &add a description. Some people can't see the images, but can read them!

If you are on a phone, use a 3rd party Mastodon app, not the official one. Unless anything's changed, it's pretty much the worst one to use.

Remember the cw button if you want to put a warning on your post, say for nsfw content.

Mastodon isn't pushing things to you. Follow people, & put relevant hashtags in your posts, so people can find them!
