Wait, Apple charges $5000 for a monitor?

And there are idiots that pay this?

No wonder Apple is worth $3 trillion.

    Fucking hell.

Monitors with extremely high color accuracy are very very expensive. They're normally like 3x that price.

@feld But how many people need that? Even most professional photographers don’t need that.

They're not really selling it independent pro photographers, they're trying to capture the entire movie industry's design process

This is probably the same equipment they're giving to the people working on all the Apple shows/movies.

People can complain that it's not quite as good as Sony's reference displays but clearly it's good enough -- the image quality of the Apple TV shows/movies is incredible. Someone clearly did their homework on how to produce something "good enough" in-house.

Although considering how much Apple relies on Sony, this must really piss Sony off...

Yeah, Final Cut Pro was not well managed but why would they go to Windows when they can just use DaVinci Resolve?

@feld Apple has all but destroyed their relationship with that market with their treatment of Final Cut Pro. The industry has decidedly moved to Windows now.
