    @anders @Skreee Chinese (spoken), Japanese, Finnish and others have an edge here.

    But people who read/write Chinese tell me they add gender markings in writing, or as people who believe spoken language comes from written language say it: "he and she exist, they're just pronounced the same way"

      It would be easier if the other languages were like Hungarian in this regard 😂

      Hungarian doesn't have differentiation between genders. They have one pronoun which is "ő".

      @anders to add something: in English I use they/them. In German, I use male pronouns, because we don't have established neutral pronouns for people. I am using er/ihm because the female pronouns misgender me, but it doesn't make me a man.

      @anders Pronouns aren't really necessarily linked to genders. All genders can and do use they/them.
