     My strategy for next time I get one of these replies is to reply back completely ignoring the content of what they said, and correcting •them• on a preposterous rule I just made up on the spot.

     Example: “Well actually , on Mastodon , you should put spaces on both sides of every comma”

     This repeats as long as the replies continue.
