Mild Gripe: When a newbie asks something, maybe don’t tell them to Google it? In the year of our lord 2023, most of us are probably aware of that tool. If we’re asking an “easily googleable” question, it’s likely because there’s something obvious to more experienced people that we just don’t know yet and maybe don’t even know we don’t know. That’s why we’re asking a person instead of a machine.

@jonobie This. Also, fuck anyone that tells me to "Google" something instead of web search. Hell, I haven't used Google for web search in a long time.

@mnemonicoverload @jonobie That's difficult to do in spoken conversation haha. I don't get angry, I just say "web search" hehe.

@MediaActivist
Personally I differentiate between "Google" (actual product name) and "google" (genericized synonym for web search like saying "kleenex" instead of facial tissue). I already have enough things to be angry about. 😂
