   Why do so many laptops (even 17") max out their resolution at 1920x1080? What is this, 2002?

     well, perhaps I should have said that the manufacturing is being dominated
     
     if the demand for 15" panels is low (and it basically is), they'll just shift the factories to primarily build what is in high demand etc etc
     
     I found that they're using some incredible panels on slot machines right now

     @feld but a 15” display is really only good for huge tablets or laptops
