if you ever wished you could snuggle a computer, i've got you covered. my MacBook Pro has built-in pillows, and they decided to fluff up the other day.

Lorewegian 📚 (lore@berserker.town)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Jul-2023 14:33:45 JST Lorewegian 📚 i never removed the bottom lid of a MacBook and had it go "boing" before. the whole case was warped and as each screw got undone, the lid bounced up.

Lorewegian 📚 (lore@berserker.town)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Jul-2023 14:33:46 JST Lorewegian 📚 i'm wondering how much it would cost to pay for a battery replacement. the iFixIt guide for DIYing it was very long and full of warnings, so i'm thinking "expensive" and not worth it.

Lorewegian 📚 (lore@berserker.town)'s status on Tuesday, 11-Jul-2023 14:33:47 JST Lorewegian 📚 this is still sitting in my house. and it actually powers up just fine. the batteries appear to have fluffed up slowly over time. i have no idea how long they've been that way. the reason i haven't thrown it out is because i need it to extract files from an APFS drive. you don't usually have extra Macs sitting around just for fun, unless you're obscenely rich.
