   I think we agree that effectively it has the same effect as eugenics, but im not sure it is the same as eugenics, no more so than not having sex with an unattractive person is eugenics.

   If you are aborting due to Downs Syndrom and your argument is "I dont want my child to live a life suffering" it isnt eugenics. However if you abord because "I dont want my child to pass on their genes and create more people with Downs Syndrome" then that would be eugenics. We make choices all the time that isnt due to eugenics but effectively selects our gene pool anyway.

     @louisrcouture It's surprising the pro-choice speaker would take that position: aborting fetuses with Down Syndrome is common and popular. Perhaps they believe that is not eugenics.

     Now they are talking about eugenics. Is it okay to abort for eugenics reasons ? Both agree it is wrong but not for the same reasons

     The Student pro life girl keeps saying the same argument over and over. A fetus is worth saving because it can become conscious. But, as Destiny also says, that fetus never experienced consciousness. It doesn't have aspirations. It's just like it was never alive
