I wonder what the Oracle purchase of Sun was for. They didn't give a shit about Solaris or SPARC, let alone MySQL or Virtualbox. Java is open source and they can't do anything about it as much as they want to, they could not get Google to pay for using it because duh.

Owning the language that most of your software is written in is probably quite valuable. OpenJDK couldn't run a lot of software for many years -
