How to optimize content for the Fediverse?
If you’re providing links, share a screenshot if the article too.
The screenshot should probably be optimized for mobile. Preferably with highlights so they don’t have to search for the relevant part.
Why?
Because people are lazy, and hate leaving their client when they’re in the midst of scrolling through their feeds.
Don’t get me wrong, they like links. If they see a link, they believe you’ve done due diligence and research. But they probably won’t click it.

Chris Trottier (atomicpoet@calckey.social)'s status on Friday, 23-Jun-2023 12:47:11 JST Chris Trottier There was a time when Internet users loved clicking links. Hence the popularity of sites like Digg and Delicious.
But Big Social has successfully trained people to not click links that take them outside their social network.
And this behaviour is hard to break. Especially on mobile where people prefer apps over web browser. -
