     I mean maybe? It's not like anything really made sense towards the end, it was just gay teenager shit. I'll check out Original Spawn I like dark shows. I'm going through my backlog atm and looking for stuff to watch while I'm running at the gym.

     I remember seeing parts of it back in the day thinking it might be good under the influence.
     I have a backlog if shows to watch but I'm thinking of going back and watching original Spawn. It was dark but interesting.

     Well, I mean, the real point of it was she had a phase where she’s like BRO, THE INTERNET IS LIKE A HIGHER PLANE OF EXISTENCE AND SHIT BRO, and then it did the anime thing where she has a literal apotheosis and a mental breakdown and the conclusion is she needs to touch grass.

     Oh really? I guess I can see it. I just didn't understand what the fuck was happening as the story was ending, she just started leveling up for seemingly no reason and I just ended up getting lost lolol. Not my show.

     I think Lain fell victim to what a lot of things like it did. Consider for a moment that the Internet as we know it today didn’t really exist at all, yet Lain hit the nail on the head with this down-the-rabbit-hole alt-net shit, the hyperreality where the Internet is realer than real life to people, and so on. It got an uncanny amount of things right, especially considering the date of its release.

     That’s not really that revolutionary an idea today, but consider presenting that idea in 1998, even with the plotholes and other flaws of the show.
